I should've read the comments before committing to this course. Other reviewers who indicated that this is an in-depth [out of date] textbook explanation of the fundamentals of nutrition (macro/micronutrients, minerals, metabolism, digestion, etc) are correct. There's some client-applicable information, but not much more than I already knew. I'm happy to have the information I obtained through the course, but probably can't foresee a way I'd use it with my clients.

I've had this certification for a few years now, and it has proved to be useless. If you want overly in-depth information about every individual vitamin and mineral, this would be for you. If you actually want to help clients, skip this one. It provides nothing to help them lose weight or reach any goal. If I could, I'd take a refund even if it meant no longer holding the name of "Fitness Nutrition Specialist".

No useful information. Nothing in this course helps with fitness nutrition, a lot of useless information that can not be applied to daily use. I basically have a $400 piece of paper. I do not recommend this course. It was a waste of time and money. Very disappointing!!!!!

This course is basically information out of a text book with no practical approach for clients. It is just information that could have been read for personal use at no added cost.

Thank God, I didn't have to pay full price for this certification. Not sure if I will ever take another NASM course. Ummm, I'm still looking for the meal planner.

A little disappointed with this course. The information is mainly out of the Text Book it comes with. The power point is an overview of the text. The certification expires in 18 years considering NASM even admits this course does not qualify you to work with individuals without the CPT its a little weird it has an expiration. The website it is on which is different from other NASM courses I have taken is very confusing. The test doesn't let you go back to check your answer so make sure you answer right the first time. The print out certification is blurry and looks photo-shope (Making it High Resolution would cost nothing. I could even do it for you). The $100 groupon price was worth it. The information is good but I would have been upset if I paid the full price for this.

This class had very good information but it wasn't structured very well. There was no outline or study guide for the final exam.

*MUST READ REVIEW - As I worked through the Fitness Nutrition Specialization course, the following became clear: The purpose of the course is to help fitness professionals become experts at the fundamentals of nutrition. As a result, they will be better equipped to help everyday clients develop a lifestyle of healthy eating. If you already have education in nutrition fundamentals, this course will include some review. Regardless of your education level, this course has an excellent design and provides a professional nutrition credential. *NOTE: I received an official certificate in the mail about two weeks after completing the course. That is to say, it appears NASM has appropriately responded to that complaint.

Out dated information that isn't worth $450. Go buy a $100 nutrition book off amazon and type yourself up a certificate. After spending months of trying to get someone from NASM on the phone I was stuck dealing with a rude client service rep who was no help. The only time nasm ever called me back was for a billing issue. When I told them I would stop making payments they finally started responding. Not to mention threatening to take away my CPT. Although my CPT was paid off. Horrible customer service. I would never recommend this product to a trainer or any other products from nasm after the customer service I received.

I loved the extra resources to help with client menus and assist them in more detail
